unique organisational form differing from stand-alone companies.
Research shows that ownership and control pattern remains the most
important feature of a business group which determines its strategy
and development. The paper identifies characteristics of Polish
business groups with respect to ownership structure and mechanisms for
control leverage by dominant shareholders. The study is based on the
hand collected data on the sample of 30 largest non-financial business
groups listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and reveals which ownership
and control strategies were adopted in the post-transition environment
of the Polish economy.},
