new German political party, which has been successful from the
European Parliament elections in 2014 to various elections held on
state level thereafter. To locate the AfD in the German party system
congruencies and differences between the AfD and other parties are
analyzed according to the answers they offer at the German voting aid
application Wahl-O-Mat for recent state elections. Generally, the AfD
is estimated right from the Christian Democrats (CDU). However,
