Der erste Band der Schriftenreihe „Recht im Kontext” dokumentiert Vorträge des Berliner Seminars Recht im Kontext, die im Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin gehalten und diskutiert wurden. Martin Loughlin entlarvt pathologische Tendenzen in der Wissenschaft vom Öffentlichen Recht, Dominique Schnapper beschreibt den französischen Verfassungsrat aus der Innenperspektive, Alec Stone Sweet preist verfassungsrechtlichen Pluralismus und gerichtlichen Umgang mit Grundrechten in Europa als Ausprägungen einer weltbürgerlichen Rechtsordnung. Ulrich K. Preuß schildert den Versuch einer Verfassunggebung für die untergehende DDR – seinen Werkstattbericht ergänzen Diskussionsbeiträge illustrer Zeitzeugen. Petra Dobner analysiert Recht und Politik in der Schuldenkrise, Dieter Simon bietet Recht als Rhetorik und Rhetorik als Recht. Und Julia Eckert wirft einen anthropologischen Blick auf jene Gerüchte vom Recht, denen die Autorinnen und Autoren des Bandes in je eigener Weise nachgehen.
