Der Band "Horti Musarum Amoenissimi" enthält 29 deutschsprachige Aufsätze von Walther Ludwig aus den Jahren 2019-2023, darunter 4 Erstveröffentlichungen zur lateinischen Literatur des europäischen 16.-18. Jahrhunderts. Dabei werden die verschiedensten literarisch-historischen Themen aus dem weiten Spektrum dieser Literatur mit zahlreichen Neuentdeckungen behandelt, unter anderem die Studia humanitatis, italienischer und deutscher Humanismus, humanistischer Schulunterricht, Ciceros Kommentierung, epische und lyrische Dichtung, Panegyrik, Obelisken, Bibliotheksgeschichte, China, der hippokratische Eid, lateinische Epigraphik, Genealogie, Numismatik sowie deutsche und neulateinische Literatur.
Abstract
This volume contains 29 articles, written in German by Walther Ludwig between 2019 and 2023, four of them previously unpublished. All articles deal with the Latin literature of the sixteenth through eighteenth century in Europe. They cover various literary and historical topics, drawn from the wide spectrum of that literature, and offer many discoveries and new insights surrounding, for instance, the studia humanitatis, humanism in Italy and German-speaking countries, humanistic school teaching, commentaries on Cicero, epic and lyric poetry, panegyrics, obeliscs, the history of libraries, China, the Hippocratic oath, Latin epigraphy, genealogy, numismatics, German and Neo-Latin literature.
